How to talk about race- Shift Lab Speakers Series

Hi folks,

One of our initiatives coming out of our Action Lab work -

The Edmonton Shift Lab

is hosting an international speakers series.

The series is called “How to Have Difficult Conversations About Race” and features three prominent international speakers diving into the messiness of talking about race and addressing systemic racism.

The first event happens later this month, on September 27, and features Shelly Tochluk who specializes in helping white folks talk about race. 

October 17 brings Daryl Davis to town – Daryl forms relationships with KKK members and he collects their robes once they decide to leave the organization. Apparently he has more than 40 so far. 

In November, we’re bringing in Trevor Phillips, the former head of the UK’s Equality and Human Rights Commission.
