Our third Art Hive is developed in collaboration an Indigenous Knowledge Keeper from the Skills Society community. The day and art will be centered around continuing the learning, reflections, and conversations of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, recognizing that our actions and commitment to being better Treaty relatives is always ongoing. We invite you to join us as we collectively engage in art, discussion, and continue our journey towards deeper understanding and reconciliation.

What is an Art Hive?

Art Hives are small community art-making spaces that are open to everyone. They invite people in as artists - no experience is required to participate! These welcoming and inclusive spaces use art-making as a way to build community, share skills, spark dialogue, and foster connections amongst participants. What to expect

  • Free drop-in art making

  • All supplies provided

  • No experience necessary

  • Artist facilitators available to support

  • A safe(r) and low-pressure environment

  • A chance to connect with others through creativity

Access Notes

Transit: Located just outside of Cushing House are ETS Bus Routes 2, 5, and 900X going Southbound and Northbound along 124 Street.

Parking:

  • Paid parking spots are available along 124 St as well as in several paid parking lots in the area.

  • Free parking is extremely limited. Limited free parking is available North or West of the building.

  • Please find a parking map from the 124 St Business Association here!

Front Entrance: The front entrance can be accessed directly from 124 St. To enter Cushing House, there is a small lip on the sidewalk and single push-button activated door. There is a curb cut available on the north and south corners of the sidewalk leading up to the front entrance.

Washroom Access: A male and female washroom is located on the main floor which both contain accessible stalls.
