Community Disability Service Professionals Appreciation Week

This week, we proudly join communities across Alberta in celebrating Community Disability Service Professionals Appreciation Week May 19 - May 25, 2025.

On March 28th, 2024, Jason Nixon, Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services, declared the third week in May as Community Disability Services Professionals Appreciation Week. We want to celebrate and amplify the message and help shed light on the dedicated 15,000 people province-wide who work to improve the quality of life of people with developmental disabilities, their families, and their communities. 

We honour the incredible dedication, compassion, and commitment of the professionals who support individuals with disabilities to live full, meaningful lives. Disability service professionals are essential workers who do meaningful, important, and complex work that we appreciate deeply. 

Please join us in celebrating the invaluable work that Disability Service Professionals do within the Skills Society community, and the disability sector at large. Your passion and care do not go unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate all that you do.
